Job Description

Immediate need for a talented DevOps Engineer Specialist. This is a Fulltime opportunity with long-term potential and is located in McLean, VA (Hybrid). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $80 – $85/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

  • We build and enhance software applications required for mandatory reporting of ***’s mortgage loan data to Federal Housing Finance Agency.
  • Partner with Product and Business team members to ensure high quality product is developed and released into production.
  • Work closely with Architecture, Stakeholders, Operations Partners, and Business Product teams to specify and refine solutions and practices.
  • Evolve a DevOps culture to provide high quality, continuous operations, and ongoing support ensuring critical service level metrics, customer requirements and financial objectives.
  • Driver for modernization of ***’s 5000+ customers to release small incremental changes to production at 5x pace.
  • Build to sustainability/DevOps engineering functions that is responsible for platform availability, scale, and performance.
  • Build tools to lead through automation and proactive/predictive alerts by having a strong data analytical tool set to identify areas of improvement.
  • Build to improve the systems health such as self healing, resiliency, continuous feedback.
  • Lead to instrument APM in prod and non-prod with dashboards including but not limited to key performance indicators, alters with thresholds and tolerances, user patterns & usages etc.
  • Implement comprehensive service monitoring to ensure uptime and performance, including but not limited to synthetic transactions, real users, system, application performance, dashboards etc.
  • Define, measure, and meet key service level objectives including availability, performance, incidents, and chronic problems.
  • Ensure robust capacity planning models are defined for key platforms and regularly measure customer site performance and capacity and ensuring that there is no downtime due to capacity.
  • Own end-to-end availability and performance of critical platform services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence; eventually automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Key Skills; Jenkins, Groovy, JIRA
  • Bachelors or advanced degree or directly relevant professional experience
  • 10+ years of experience in delivering solutions using Software Development Life Cycle
  • 5+ years’ experience working with complex SQL queries, AWS and Unix environments.
  • Proven experience with operational and organizational management, team leadership, and enterprise-wide technology strategy
  • Possess good interpersonal and collaboration skills with strong communication skills at levels ranging from senior leadership to product team members.
  • Knowledge and experience working with AWS, Python and Java
  • Strong writing skills. Detail driven with respect to documentation.
  • Desire to expand knowledge & skillset in cloud-based technologies & patterns
  • Takes accountability, sets expectations, and delivers high quality technical solutions within agreed upon level of effort.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.

  • Experienced in coding, scripting, and automating with languages including Groovy, Ansible, Selenium, Vgen and shell scripting experience, for automation of routine operations and tasks within the enterprise environment.
  • Proficient in CI/CD pipeline development with use of Jenkins and Spinnaker tools; to support microservice deployments into Amazon EKS and/or OpenShift Console environments.
  • Experienced with code quality, code coverage, security scan (SAST/DAST) scanning tools such as; Fortify, Checkmarx, SonarQube.
  • Experience with code and release management tools (e.g. Git, Bitbucket, CI/CD, Helm, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Jira)
  • Lead technical teams with a focus on productivity, cost optimization on infrastructure and efficiency.
